Newest Bachelorette Announced

Last night during the live airing of The Bachelor: After the Final Rose, Chris Harrison announced the next Bachelorette for season nine as Desiree Hartstock. You can find the announcement video here.

It is known that her brother in his haste for scouting out Sean came off as a bit of a hard nose. Let's hope that the up and coming season for Desiree will go better. We at the Rose will try our best to keep you all informed during the filming and airing of her season. Jef will be the one Emily chooses. I just knew it in my heart. He had to be the one. What made me so certain? How did I know?

First of all, I’ll let you in on a secret that’s not so secret. I’m a mom. I’m a single mother of an adorable daughter. I am single because her father and I divorced when she was very young (separated before she was two years old). I raised my child virtually on my own while her father jumped from wife to wife. Enough said, not fair to judge someone who is not here to defend himself so on with the story.

Emily Maynard: Nothing Escaped the Eye of the Tiger

The choice Emily made is easy to see if  we look at the explanation Jef gave when asked what it is he sees in Emily "She is funny, witty, caring, smart, happy, a good mom..." And of course it didn't stop there, but almost secondarily he said "...so so happy, and gorgeous, really beautiful."  I say that's a darn good answer!

Who's Zooming Who?

Funny, I was going to write this article last week: I'm so glad I didn't, as tonight really fed right into it!

Last week, I was going to write that Arie's mom flubbed it up for him royally. When asked what being a race car driver's wife was like, she said "hard" right away, without a second thought. Sure she followed it up by claiming umpty years of marriage, but it was too late. Did you see Emily's face? I sure did.

Also last week I was going to point out that it was a little late for ole Em to be worried about marrying a race car driver: damn near did it once already, did she not?

But then. THEN. Tonight happens.

Fantasy Dates in Curaco

Emily Upcoming, Jef's Past and Steel Magnolias

Jeff had long bushy hair before. His sister talked him into a redo, on hearing Emily was bachelorette - Southern Belles don't like long hair. He wouldn't give up the skateboard, though.

Emily thinks as a big kid himself he'd make a great dad. I feel the same as this article: she'd then have TWO kids to take care of. Why can't she see that?

What's worse, Jef tells Emily he broke up with a chick once - because his parents didn't like her. This, RIGHT before hometown dates.

First we have a one-on-one with Arie. Is this when Emily gets her surprise, I wonder? No, not according to the spoilers I'm reading. Indeed she invites him for the hometown dates, this date goes so well: they share a kiss on the Charles Bridge (below.)
